What changes the answer
Choose the topic, condition, factor, question, and location that match what you need to know.
TopicTree condition observationsTree observations record visible features, defects and the surroundings; they do not alone establish internal condition or structural capacity.TopicTree work positioningWork-positioning planning considers access, support, movement and rescue arrangements for the assessed tree and task.TopicTree pruning objectivesPruning objectives identify the intended outcome and tree condition before a qualified person selects an appropriate scope.TopicTree rigging plansA tree-rigging plan considers the material being controlled, system configuration, available supports and potential targets.TopicTreecare equipment inspectionEquipment inspection compares an identified item with its instructions and service records before its status is determined.ConditionPlanned tree pruningPlanned tree pruning is the use or operating condition applied to this treecarework.cyou record. Confirm the actual site conditions and available evidence before applying the guidance.ConditionStorm damage reviewStorm damage review is the use or operating condition applied to this treecarework.cyou record. Confirm the actual site conditions and available evidence before applying the guidance.ConditionUtility adjacent treeUtility adjacent tree is the use or operating condition applied to this treecarework.cyou record. Confirm the actual site conditions and available evidence before applying the guidance.ConditionRestricted access siteRestricted access site is the use or operating condition applied to this treecarework.cyou record. Confirm the actual site conditions and available evidence before applying the guidance.FactorTree conditionTree condition is a decision factor that must be observed, measured, or checked in appropriate documentation. Record the method, conditions, and uncertainty where relevant.FactorNearby targetsNearby targets is a decision factor that must be observed, measured, or checked in appropriate documentation. Record the method, conditions, and uncertainty where relevant.FactorClearance constraintsClearance constraints is a decision factor that must be observed, measured, or checked in appropriate documentation. Record the method, conditions, and uncertainty where relevant.FactorEquipment statusEquipment status is a decision factor that must be observed, measured, or checked in appropriate documentation. Record the method, conditions, and uncertainty where relevant.QuestionIdentifyIdentify the system, condition, or organism using suitable observations and documents; state uncertainty instead of assuming a cause.QuestionCompareCompare options against the same documented purpose, operating conditions, evidence, limitations, and maintenance requirements.QuestionSpecificationRecord the exact system, intended duty, operating limits, applicable instructions, and acceptance checks before choosing equipment or work.QuestionMaintenanceUse equipment instructions, condition, use, and recorded history to plan inspection and maintenance by appropriately qualified people.QuestionVerificationCheck the proposed conclusion against suitable measurements, current source documents, and a documented follow-up or acceptance plan.
What to check next
- Record tree observations and surrounding targets
- Define the proposed tree-care objective
- Review access, equipment and rescue arrangements
- Use qualified arboricultural and utility personnel as appropriate
